Kanoko Pants

I knit these up for my friend Jaime who is due 5 weeks before me. The yarn is the same I used for the BuzzBee hat which I also knit for her – Lion Brand Cotton Ease. The yarn splits a little easily while you knit, but it is easy-care and kind of perfect for a baby item.

I highly recommend this quick pattern.  If I had to guess how long it took me, I’d say about one long weekend. The one pant leg looks a little shorter than the other, but I think that can be fixed with blocking.

I’ll hopefully get my act together in time to knit my own little one a pair of these and a cute matching hat too!

This pattern is from the Wee Woolly Toppers collection available on Ravelry. It’s knit with Lion Brand Cotton Ease.

The hat knit up really quick and I’m looking forward to knitting more from this collection.

The Second Sock Syndrome

6 Jan

I have serious second sock syndrome with this pair of Monkeys! (Raveled here) I started this one in May of last year and I think it took me a few weeks of evenings to finish it. I did cast on for the next one immediately, but have only managed to knit half of the cuff. My goal is to finish the partner to this sock this month.

This is an awesome pattern and easy to knit. I’m using Cherry Tree Hill yarn that I bought at a Sheep and Wool festival years ago.

2010 is all about stash busting and finishing those lingering projects. I also have 2 shawl/scarf projects that either need to be finished or frogged, and a granny square project that is destined to be a baby blanket or a lap blanket. Here’s to finishing what I started!
